Affiliate Disclosure

Plain language, up front: this site is reader-supported through affiliate commissions. Here's exactly what that means and what it doesn't.

How we earn

Some links on this site — typically the price-check and purchase buttons on review and comparison pages, routed through our /go/ redirect paths — are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, the vendor pays us a commission. The price you pay is the same as going to the vendor directly; commissions come out of the vendor's marketing budget, not your pocket.

What commissions do not buy

How to spot an affiliate link here

Purchase buttons are marked with rel="nofollow sponsored" and route through /go/<product>/ before reaching the vendor. Editorial links (to research, methodology, or other articles) are ordinary links. Every review page also carries a short disclosure line near the top, because a disclosure you never reach is not a disclosure.

Third-party cookies

Affiliate networks and vendors set cookies when you click through, so the sale can be attributed — typically for a window of up to 60 days. Those cookies are governed by the vendor's and network's privacy policies, which apply once you leave this site. See our Privacy Policy for what this site itself collects (very little).

The honest bottom line

Affiliate income is what makes independent review work possible without a paywall or a vendor sponsor. We think the model is defensible exactly as long as the warnings stay on the page and the methodology stays public. Judge us by that standard — it's the one we publish under.
